THE SHIFT WE ENABLE

From where we are to where we need to be.

When leaders across every sector understand their health impact, better systems become possible.

Tomorrow's systems

Fragmented, siloed systems

Integrated systems where culture and policy prioritize and reinforce human-centered outcomes

Moral injury and misalignment

Supported teams, fulfilled and aligned with their values

Equity as a slogan

Measurable equity and dignity embedded in every decision and outcome

Design in isolation

Shared responsibility across every sector

Healthcare is health

Health as everyone's business

How We Help

We reimagine and redesign fragmented health systems into coordinated impact that honors human dignity.

We work where culture, policy, and execution meet, bringing clarity where health systems are fragmented so progress moves in one direction.

Culture.

Cultivate leaders and community.

We coach and convene the leaders driving change, and build the learning spaces and community that help health professionals connect, grow, and stay in the work.

Policy.

Make health part of every decision

We shape the policy and narrative that put health into decisions no one thought of as health decisions, and bring the strategy to solve the hard, cross-sector problems standing in the way.

Learn more →
Execution.

Build and run what works.

We incubate, prototype, and develop new care models and ventures, then run the operations and people systems that let good work scale and last.

"With their blend of system knowledge, whole-community approach, and trailblazing, innovative strategies, they are able to transform formerly intractable problems into solvable challenges."

MitoKhon is not your traditional health consulting company. While the team has decades of clinical experience and operational expertise in traditional healthcare, they know true health and wellness for all will never be achieved through conventional approaches. With their blend of system knowledge, whole-community approach, and trailblazing, innovative strategies, they are able to transform formerly intractable problems in the health field solvable challenges. And they walk the talk in centralizing equity and dignity for all.

MitoKhon helped our team broaden our perspectives, encouraging us to think bigger and (most importantly) think differently, about our goals for expanding mental health access and scaling our initiatives. They don't just provide solutions, they also foster imagination and hope; hope that yes- things actually can change! The Mitokhon team has a huge network, so they are able to facilitate collaborations by bringing like-minded partners to the table and advancing partnerships. Any leader or organizations that works with MitoKhon will be changed- new thoughts, bold ideas, more hope, and an enhanced network.

"What seemed intimidating became manageable once we had clear, detailed guidance, practical tools, and a roadmap for success."

Before working with MitoKhon, one of the biggest challenges was helping physicians overcome the fear and uncertainty that often comes with media interviews. What seemed intimidating became manageable once we had clear, detailed guidance, practical tools, and a roadmap for success. MitoKhon not only gave our physician advocates the confidence to engage with the media, but also helped them identify opportunities to continually strengthen and refine their communication skills.

"MitoKhon has affirmed for me that alignment is truly possible in this work."

1. Before working with MitoKhon, what problem felt unsolvable? What shifted?

My journey in health was a pivot from finance and legal industries where I wanted to understand how to deliver care to real, everyday people and ensure actual access to that care at the highest quality — not just in talking points, but what that looked like in practice. That gap felt unsolvable. The system was entirely too complex, and the distance between policy language and people's lived experience only seemed to grow. What shifted was seeing what becomes possible when you start with the people first — the communities, their voice — and raise that up within the system so that there is a coherence in care delivery. The women of MitoKhon exemplify that. They demonstrate time and again that the beauty of enhancing the quality of people's daily lives is in its simplicity, surpassing a system that has overcomplicated itself, and getting to the heart of the matter with precision, care, wisdom, and love.

2. How has working with MitoKhon changed the way you think about your own role in health?

MitoKhon has affirmed for me that alignment is truly possible in this work. Healthcare policy and program development became the natural extension of trying to put the puzzle pieces together on how communities have agency over their lives. I fell in love with healthcare innovation and knew that there was always — will always be — money invested in these solutions, so it was a matter of filling the gap: really funding equity, navigating federal programs, and filtering out the policy noise to build sustainable programs. Working with MitoKhon continues to confirm my conviction every day that this is not just theory, it's the reality and it's always possible.

3. What would you tell a leader in your position about what it means to work with MitoKhon?

If you feel as if you're working within or talking to a void, get in community with these incredible leaders. You'll find partners who build with you, not just advise from the sidelines. You will begin to walk in the path you were destined to in healthcare and actualize all the reasons you came into the field in the first place.

"MitoKhon’s breadth of knowledge across the healthcare ecosystem, paired with a human-centered design approach, creates alignment among stakeholders and ensures solutions are grounded in the needs of the people and systems they are intended to serve."

Working with MitoKhon means partnering with a team that quickly understands the problem you're trying to solve and helps bring clarity to the opportunities and paths forward. MitoKhon’s breadth of knowledge across the healthcare ecosystem, paired with a human-centered design approach, creates alignment among stakeholders and ensures solutions are grounded in the needs of the people and systems they are intended to serve.

"From the start, the MitoKhon team has consistently exceeded my expectations, and consistently provided insightful options, end-to-end solutions, and processes for managerial teams to oversee and monitor the quality and outcomes of newly built programs."

I am the Chief Medical Officer for a California, Medi-Cal Managed Care Health Plan. Prior to joining my health plan, I was a Principal Consultant for a large, national health care policy consulting firm, so I feel comfortable selecting, engaging , and directing a consultant and their team. I reached out to Mitokhon because my health plan and my care management team faced a major dilemma. Our health care services managerial team did not have the band width, nor depth of expertise to design, and meaningfully implement several foundational elements of CA’s MediCal big, bold, utilization and care management transformation requirements. Having worked with some of the Mitokhon team members at another CA MediCal managed care plan, I was familiar with their depth of expertise, and proven abilities to fully, and impactfully execute a broad and complex scope of work. My health plan has engaged Mitokhon for almost 9 months starting in late 2025. From the start, the Mitokhon team has consistently exceeded my expectations, and consistently provided insightful options, end to end solutions, and processes the managerial teams to oversee and monitor the quality and outcomes of the newly built programs. If budget resources allow, I will be working with Mitokhon to extend their engagement with my health plan through the end of 2027. And there is more! When Mitokhon started their engagement with my health plan, they immediately identified several care management program deficiencies. In Q2 of 2026, our plan had its yearly MediCal regulatory audit. Last week, we received our official MediCal audit letter, and our plan is proud to share that NO care management program deficiencies were identified.

Every decision shapes health.

When people understand that their decisions shape health, they design differently. And when we design differently, we build systems that work better for everyone.
